Birds and yarn

With the windy and colder weather today Daisy had to amuse herself playing inside the house.

First the morning was spent talking to the birds near the feeder.  That went on for a long time.

Then after a bout of slipper fighting with Tammy, Daisy played with her yarn ball.   After batting the yarn ball all around the house she then unraveled the yarn halfway down the basement stairs.

Ooopps!

This morning I heard a crash and looked up to see Daisy run like mad from the living room.  I walked over to find the flowers and vase on the floor. Good thing the flowers are fake.  Daisy then came back to survey the scene of the crime.

Tammy's back

While Tammy was gone Daisy was sad in the mornings.  One morning she just laid on the back of the couch depressed.  The next morning Daisy walked around the house at 6 am meowing mournfully for Tammy as they usually play before Tammy goes to work.

One evening Daisy was in one of her 'run-crazy-around-and-around-the-house' moods.  Without Tammy here to tell her to settle down Daisy ran and jumped on the back of the couch and slid off and into the window taking her blanket with her.  Daisy had never done that before!

One morning Daisy caught another mouse for Tammy even though it recently snowed.

In the evening Daisy would lay on my computer keyboard and/or mouse. Of course when I went to get my camera she would get up and move.

When I would sit on the couch Daisy would quickly jump up and lay against me since Tammy wasn't here to lay against.

Last night in a snowstorm - actually this morning as it was after midnight - Tammy returned home.  Daisy was happy and energetic.  This morning Daisy was back to her exuberant self.  She ran around, meowed and scratched on some doors and the bed, and played soccer with one of her balls batting it all over the house.

This afternoon when Tammy did some laundry Daisy had to do a cat scan of the dryer before Tammy used it.

Missing Tammy again

Tammy is out in Washington State for a business meeting and to see some of my relatives. Daisy is missing her.   I find Daisy clinging to me more than usual now that she doesn't have Tammy to sit next to in the evenings.  Earlier as I knelt on the floor by the wood stove Daisy halfway crawled on my lap and then put her claws in my jeans to stay anchored and then tried to go to sleep.  Daisy is rarely a lap cat as she prefers laying next to or near a person.

This evening Daisy sprawled all over my computer mouse and keyboard.  I would have gotten a photo but naturally she moved when I went to get my camera.

Basket sleeping

Tammy washed Daisy's blanket the other day.  No blanket did not stop Daisy from sleeping in her basket.

Nightmares?

Last night Tammy, Daisy and I watched some episodes on DVD of the show "American Horror Story".

Daisy laid in her basket when we watched the first episode and at the end of the scary episode she was wide eyed.  For the next episode Daisy laid on Tammy's lap, and the snuggie, for protection.

That was a scary show.  But I am safe with you.

Are we watching another scary show?

Scary doctor and his scary wife

More scary people

That's a scary show!!!  I can't watch!

Oh no!  What's happening now?!!

That night Daisy slept in the bed between Tammy and me.  She rarely does that.

Staying warm on a cold day

We didn't get the snow.  Yay!

We didn't get the strong winds.  Yay!

But the predicted cold is slowly settling in.

The temperature was just barely above zero F at noon today.  Here are the forecast low temperatures for tonight.

Daisy was smart and decided to spend the day inside. She went outside a couple times in the morning, but very briefly.  Even when I went outside late afternoon to feed and water the cattle Tammy couldn't interest Daisy in joining me.  Instead she sat at the window and watched me.

When I watched the noon news and weather on TV Daisy settled down on the snuggie for a nap next to me.

An unusual sounding jet flying overhead got Daisy's interest.

Then back to her nap.
