Daisy photo

Still lots of snow on the ground. Way too much.  Normally we can have up to 4 inches of snow by now.  We've had about 15 inches so far.  The weather forecast is for rain or snow every day for the next week.    Daisy isn't happy about this cold wet weather either.

So... here is a photo of Daisy from earlier this Fall when it was still nice outside and the grass was green.

Laying in the sun

One morning last week, when it was still sunny, Daisy laid in the sun to be near me.

Helping with the south patio fence rebuild

Yesterday on my other blog I wrote about the fence rebuild south of the patio.  Once again Daisy helped, or at least supervised.

Helping with backyard fence rebuild

On my other blog recently I had posted photos and talked about my recent rebuild of the fence between the backyard and the hayfield.

Well, Daisy helped me at times.   Here are some photos of Daisy helping me.

Is the hole deep enough?

No, the hole is not deep enough.  Dig deeper.

In tall hayfield grass

Still not done baling my hay as I still have tractor and baler problems.  But, here are a few photos from the end of of July and the beginning of August of Daisy in the tall hayfield grass before I had cut it.  Often Daisy would sit out there listening for mice.

Scratch

An older photo from the end of April of Daisy.  She had got a head scratch.  Most likely from sticking her head into something to look for mice.   The scratch has all healed.

Today has been a rainy day.  For the most part Daisy has stayed in the house a good portion of the day with me and slept on my lap.  When she does go outside and then come back in the house her legs and belly tend to be wet.

Cat dad and Father's day

Daisy and Donna celebrated Father's Day for me.  Donna made a meal of spaghetti for me and also invited the woman - whose name is escaping me right now - who gave Donna the wood from the tree that blew over in that woman's yard.

"Daisy" gave me a present.  A t-shirt.

Helping dig around tree stump 6

Daisy 'helped' me while I dug around tree stump number 6 out in the middle pasture.

Work done for the day.  Walking back home through the hayfield.

Here is a 53 second video of Daisy walking back home: https://youtu.be/dj1cBAQIsvI

Helping dig several tree stumps

This Spring I dug around a number of tree stumps to either dig them out of the ground or else prepare them for a later bonfire burn.  A few times Daisy came out to 'help' me.

Sitting next to the wheelbarrow.

Yet another stump.   It is getting late.   Time to go home.

Helping check fruit trees

When I was checking the blossoms on my fruit trees, Daisy helped me.

https://tallpinesranch.blogspot.com/2020/05/fruit-trees-and-flowering.html

Coming down after checking an apple tree for blossoms.

"Nope, no blossoms on this apple tree."

After checking the fruit trees Daisy decided to check out the rhubarb to see how they are doing.

Helping fix a strap

When I haul cattle in my stock trailer I put a strap on the lower half of the back of the trailer.  That is because the back door only has a latch on the upper half.  I am leery that somehow the cattle will push hard on the door and it will come off or open on the bottom.  So I attach a strap or two on the lower half of the trailer when I haul cattle.

The last time I hauled cattle the large yellow strap was jamming up and hard to use.  So I used two other smaller straps for the trip.  Later I had to unwind the yellow strap all the way from the catch / tightener.  It took some time to unwind it so Daisy decided to help me.  Eventually we got the strap all unwound and rethreaded and fixed.

Partially unwound while fixing it

Preferring the sink for water

While Daisy drinks water from her water dish, she prefers to drink water from most everywhere else.  She has now gotten me into the habit of putting water in the sink and then lifting her up onto the counter so she can drink from the sink.

Whatever my cat wants...

Sleeping on the loveseat

Some afternoons Daisy likes to sleep on the loveseat.  Especially if I place "her blanket" on the loveseat.

Wannabe football player?

Late this morning I seen a dark black mark on Daisy's face when he was laying on a hay bale in the hayshed.  I don't know how he got the mark.  Is he trying out to be a football player or some other sport?

I tried to take a photo of his mark.  But he didn't want to sit still for a photo.  He rubbed against me or would lay and roll around on the ground next to me.  By the time I got some photos the mark was no longer a dark black.
